Owners Comments....
Having moved to Maidenhead almost 10 years ago, we fell in love with the town, which perfectly balances access to London and the countryside. Naturally, it became our first choice when we bought our first house here 7 years ago. We were drawn to this property due to its proximity to the train station (Crossrail), as we were working in London and Reading at the time.
We've lovingly transformed this beautiful Victorian townhouse, preserving its charming period features while modernising it to meet the needs of a contemporary family. We opened up the living and dining rooms to create a spacious, open-plan area. The kitchen, with its clever sliding door, offers the flexibility of being part of the living space or a separate area when needed. We relocated the boiler and added bespoke fitted wardrobes, shelving, and a desk area to the ground floor rear room, creating a versatile space that functions as a spare bedroom, study, or home office. The loft extension with a dormer now hosts a spacious bedroom with an ensuite. The entire house has been rewired, replumbed, and skimmed. We future-proofed the property by adding multiple sockets in each room, TV and internet cabling from a cupboard under the stairs to all rooms, and a 10mm electric cable for an electric car charger. Unique touches like the bespoke staircase with glass balustrades, oak flooring in the living room, a cozy bar area under the stairs, and a rear garden with access to Grenfell Park make this home truly special.
While we adore this house, our circumstances have changed. We no longer need to be near the station as we both work remotely, and we're looking to move away from the town centre.
This home is perfect for someone seeking their first home but wanting a property that has been modernised and still offers the opportunity to add their own personal touch. The station and town centre are only a 5 minute walk away, making this home ideal for someone who needs to commute to work or requires quick access to town. There are two supermarkets within a 5 minute drive and several shops within walking distance. The neighbours are incredibly friendly, and since Covid, we've connected through a neighbourhood WhatsApp group where everyone helps each other out.

We hope the next owners will cherish this home as much as we have and enjoy all the wonderful features and community spirit that Maidenhead has to offer.

Stuart's Comments...

So much to love about this house... first and foremost the location is absolutely second to none! Whether you need motorway access or are commuting into London every day both are on the doorstep, and you can stroll into town in under 5 minutes. Next everything feels lovely and spacious, you walk into a bright and spacious living/dining room with some gorgeous character features (including a little bar tucked away in a niche next to the stairs) that leads into the kitchen and a shower room and fourth bedroom, or study, beyond that. There's two good sized bedrooms and a four-piece family bathroom on the first floor, with a gorgeous main bedroom suite occupying the whole of the top floor, including a dressing area, shower room and Juliet balcony with views over the garden and the park beyond. The current owners have done a great job in landscaping the garden so it's both functional and low maintenance, and there's permit parking right outside the front of the house.

Area Comments...

You can't get much more central to Maidenhead than here! The train station is literally over the road, and the main hub of the town centre is a gentle 5 minute stroll further into the town. Maidenhead is currently undergoing a vast regeneration project with plenty of bars, boutiques and supermarkets already in place, and thanks to the excellent transportation links into London, it's fast becoming the commuter town of choice for people of all ages. Now part of the Elizabeth \"Lizzy\" underground line, and already offering train links direct to Paddington in under 20 minutes, as well as having access direct to the M4 just a couple of minutes away by car. Windsor, Marlow, Cookham and the neighbouring villages & hamlets are all within easy reach, as well as a wealth of country side walks and the Thames Path snaking it's way throughout the local area as well.
